Professor Tim Noakes holds numerous degrees relating to sports science and currently serves as an Adjunct Professor at CPUT. In 2008 he received the Order of Mapungubwe, Silver from the President of South Africa for his contribution to the science of physical exercise. The professor has published more than 750 scientific books and articles, the one he is the most famous for is the "Real Meal Revolution", which launched the controversial Banting diet into the public sphere. After the publication of the best-selling book, he founded the "The Noakes Foundation", focused on providing high-quality research for his prescribed diet.
